Knock, Knock!

Where have I been?  All this time?!?!  I mean seriously, how is it possible that almost 3 months could have passed me by so quickly?  It's like I've just been standing on the sidelines, watching life whiz by my face going a million miles an hour.  And although I am aware that life is racing by and things are constantly changing, my hum-drum routine keeps schleping on ... unaware and oblivious to change.

So, what may you ask has changed?  What has happened that makes life seem like it is going by so quickly?  Let's break it down:

  • Joey's R&R has come and gone ... and good gravy did it go fast.  It's like this knight in shining armor flew in to sweep me off my feet and flew away as quickly as he'd come.  It was the best 2 weeks I have had in quite some time.  I can positively say that those were the best two weeks since his last visit in June of 2011.  I will keep all of the memories we made together in a special place in my heart and mind ... and I will ALWAYS remember my students staring in shock when they saw my husband, the gangster thug, rolling into my classroom.  FANTASTIC!!
  • Well, I'm walking better ... but I still have a limp ... so I guess nothing has changed there.
  • My cousin got in a terrible car accident ... so terrible that she was quite close to death.  It really made me feel like we aren't so indestructable and that things like that really can happen, even though you think they never will.  And it also made me become hypervigilant in watching the other dumbass drivers around me ...
  • The Walking Dead canNOT come back on fast enough ... seriously ... I'm waiting.
  • I feel like people judge me for my amount of facebook and TV usage ... But before you judge just know that they are the only things that keep me from talking to my walls and having imaginary friends.
  • I have become SUPER creative ... and artsy.  I sharpied a skeleton on my wall at school.  It's a good thing I have a super cool boss ..........
  • I have slowly and steadily been conquering the disgusting white walls in my classroom and successfully have artwork and word walls for each of my classes!
  • I started Body By Vi and have sucessfully lost 7.4 pounds and a total of 7 inches off my body.  I am really excited to be a little sexy sex kitten when my husband comes home from deployment!
  • I'm still obsessed with the Food Network, but am LOVING Once Upon a Time and Grimm.
  • Grey's Anatomy still makes me giddy like a school girl.
  • It snowed over a foot last week, and we finally got a snow day.
  • I have been stressed to the max with creating a curriculum for 5 different class subjects - sometimes I worry about running out of ideas.
  • I am the prom advisor and we have started planning prom; Dear Lord, please help me!
  • I only get to talk to my husband about once every 2 weeks ... kiss your spouse and tell them you love them please.
  • Someone my husband went to BCT with died in Afghan about 2 weeks ago ... someone Joey knew from Germany died in Afghan last week.  That hit me like a ton of bricks and made me want to barf.
  • I've been having terrible nightmares ...........
  • I am finding that I have a super low tolerance for bull shit and lying lately.
  • My Mii character got lonely, so I made a Mii Joey ...
  • My pug has decided that it is super cool to want to go outside at 3 AM ... and he has also decided that he can't climb stairs without help.  SUPER ANNOYING.
  • And finally ... not that this has changed or will ever change ... but my mother is the coolest rock star woman in the world.  Honestly, you would be a better person if you knew her.

I'm sure there is so much more that has changed, but that is all I can remember, as my head seems to be filled with planning tomorrow already.  I have to set out clothes, remember if it is a "purple" or "white" day, be prepared for class plans and after school help session plans, set everything out for a lunch, kill the pug for barking at my shoes, check the locks for the millionth time and thank my OCD, kill the pug again for not coming up the stairs and barking at me about it, pack my school bag, lather, rinse, repeat ............................

Is there a moral to this story?  No ...

But damn, I'm tired.
