You Never Know What A Day Will Bring ...

A Human’s Tragedy

This was not a joke or a comedy,
It was a real human's tragedy...
Not a scene coming straight from Hollywood,
It was the time when the world still stood...
I felt astonished and sad that I did cry,
To hold my tears, I did really try...
When listening the news in my TV set,
I could not believe it, my TV I reset..
Panic, chaos, screaming and total confusion,
Stopped the human evolution...
Bodies, mixed with blood and debris
Manifested in the devastated streets...
Without wasting time, the helping hands
From all over the globe try to remove the sands
From those who my still be alive,
And those wandering around
Desperate looking for food not found
Or the precious water soon to arrive...
They are also part of the human race,
A wounded child with a dirty face...
Hungry and tired looking for his mom,
Happy to find the open arms of Sergeant Tom...
Like drinking a bitter and cold drink
Things in life that twice make you think...

Today was an odd day.  Most of the students weren’t in school because of field day.  I was bored.  I was on the Internet for most of the Day and a news article caught my eye: a police standoff in a nearby town.  I emailed my friend to ask if that town was close and if we should be worried.  She replied: “I know those people”.
We watched the updates and the breaking news via Internet.  A man was holding his ex-wife and 2 children hostage.  The outcome was not good.  It was heartbreaking, sickening, and honestly unbelievable.  My heart goes out to the remaining family and friends.
I did not know the family myself, but anyone with half a heart would be affected by this story.  I can’t help but think about the children, and the fear in their mother’s heart.  I can only hope that God was with them giving them the peace they needed in their final hours.  I can only hope they didn’t suffer.  And I am left wondering, does anybody really fully know what a person is capable of?  It is scary if you think about it.
So I would like to share with you today that I am extremely thankful for my husband that loves me, my family that treats me with love and respect, and my friends who are like family to me.  I love you all.
My thoughts and prayers go to the family and friends that were affected by this terrible tragedy.  God Bless.  I pray someday you will find peace.  I am so sorry.

  1. I love your writing. Have you ever thought of writing a book! The family in Dexter was horrible. The sickness that people have is crazy. This why we need to all cherish our loved ones and friends, like you said be thankful for our precious lives. :) Can't wait to read more of your writing!!
